Studying dentistry in Bulgaria
Dentistry is a regulated profession in Bulgaria and the qualification is a master's level programme: the full course covers five years of theoretical training plus six months of pre-graduation practical training (Ministry of Health page on recognition of regulated medical professions, checked 23 August 2026; confirm the current framework there). This article sets out the administrative frame rather than ranking universities.

Dentistry is not medicine
The two programmes have separate curricula, different lengths and different professional rights on graduation. What they share is regulated status across the EU, which means the academic value of the diploma and the right to practise are two distinct questions decided by different bodies.
Admission is the university's decision
No central authority admits students in Bulgaria; each university applies criteria published in its own admission rules, and for dentistry these usually rest on science subjects. Recognition of your secondary school diploma runs separately, on the education administration side.

On tuition figures
Fees at state institutions are set by government act on the proposal of the university, differ by programme and language of instruction, and apply differently to international students. We therefore publish no figure here: take the current amount from the university's own official fee page, not from an education agency.

English-taught, Bulgarian-treated
An English-taught programme shortens language preparation, but clinical years involve patients who speak Bulgarian. Treat Bulgarian as a prerequisite for the clinical stage rather than an optional extra, and check how the programme plans to build it.

Will my diploma let me practise anywhere in the EU automatically?
Recognition of professional qualifications operates through a defined procedure in the host country. It is a procedure, not an automatic entitlement, and it should be checked before you enrol.
